Final Report:

Outcomes
Maryland stakeholders were kept informed of pesticide and regulatory policy changes and had appropriate opportunities for input. State and federal agencies were informed of Maryland stakeholders' concerns with regard to pesticides.

As a direct result of discussion initiated by the SNP Director during In-Service Training in September 2010, several scientists at the University of Maryland are considering responding to EPA's RFA, "Bed Bug Education/Outreach and Environmental Justice Grants."

Twelve new leaflets in the Pesticide Briefs for Extension Educators series were published, and one was revised:

Impacts
MPEAP provided opportunity for informed comment to stakeholders and interested parties to help regulators develop and implement sound policy on pesticides. News on pesticide-related developments including new or updated policies and regulations as well as actions proposed for consideration was distributed to stakeholders and interested parties throughout the project period. University of Maryland Extension educators extended the information through their own county newsletters, plant clinics, meetings and other outreach to ensure growers were kept informed and could plan appropriately for changes. Growers were enabled to continue to produce crops with available pesticides.
